Dave Lawson - Owner/Instructor -

Dave is a local to the Roaring Fork Valley. Born and raised. During his senior year in high school, Dave joined the Carbondale Fire Dept. He stayed as a volunteer for nearly five years. After high school a two year adventure as a federal firefighter spurred his interest into other aspects of emergency services. From Search & Rescue volunteer to becoming a certified police officer, spending 23 years in local agencies. Dave retired as a Sergeant. After a couple years in a local school, interest was switched to driver education. When the opportunity arose, In & Out Driving School became the next phase in community service.

Sulma "Sam" Mellin - Spanish class instructor -

Sam as we know her is very knowledgeable in all aspects of teen and adult requirements to obtain a Colorado Driver License. Sam is bilingual and is an asset to the community with her assistance in making sure everyone knows what they need to do. Sam is also a Valley Native. Sam is also a bilingual instructor in our Driver awareness classes. Sam is certified to teach driver education and proctor Colorado driver license exams.

In & Out Driving School originated in Glenwood Springs in 2011. In & Out Driving School has grown from one office to multiple offices to better serve the residents of Western Colorado. The decision to do this was to promote driver education and safety to as many teenagers and adults as possible. Currently In & Out driving school offers classes from Vail to the Parachute. In & Out Driving School employs Current and retired law enforcement officers as well as emergency service personnel. We also employ retired military, local educators and trained professional drivers. By keeping this philosophy, we can offer the best training and experiences for out teens and tomorrows leaders.

Rob Lawson - Instructor BOST examiner-

Rob is also a Valley Native and former Military personnel (Army). Rob has spent nearly 30 years in law enforcement retiring locally. From patrol to Sheriff's Deputy and Sergeant, Rob has a vast knowledge. Currently an owner of a local security company, Rob has what it takes to give his knowledge and experience a real life feel in the classroom.
